Upstairs Master Bedroom

What started out as a leak in the ceiling… ended up being a GIANT renovation.

We had a leak in the roof that went through into the bedroom

So… when the contractor started to fix the ceiling, he noticed the electrical didn’t meet code.

So… the electrician started rewiring the ceiling fixture. He noticed that the wiring to the switch needed updating.

So… the electrician tried cutting into the wall for the new box and the plaster started falling off the wall.

So… the contractor decided to pull off ALL the lathe and plaster in the room.

So… since the walls have now been changed, the inspector said that we needed to increase the size of the egress window.

So… when they enlarged the window, the siding on the house broke and needed to be replaced. (Vinyl siding)

So… as long as the wall was down, we decided to put in new insulation.

So… as long as we have the walls out in the bedroom… we might as well replace the ALL the upstairs walls, electrical, plumbing, insulation, heating and air-conditioning, flooring, and on and on and on. AGH!! (It reminds me of the movie, “The Money Pit”.
