Secret Entry Closet

When the house was built, my great grandpa put a hidden closet under the steps in the entryway. The house was remodeled in the 60s and the open stairway leading upstairs was closed in. The hidden closet was covered with a real closet.

During the remodel, we opened the stairway back up. This exposed the hidden closet door again. But, because of the structural reinforcing we did on the stairway, the closet door wouldn’t open. So, we changed the shape of the door and ta…da… the hidden closet was back.
