Murphy Bed to the Rescue
The upstairs master bedroom is going to serve a dual purpose. My wife is going to be using it as her sewing room but we also want to use it as a bedroom for guests.
Space for sewing and a bed for sleeping… a murphy bed seemed like the best option. Most of the time there will be plenty of room for sewing and cutting out fabric… and when company comes, we just pull the bed down from the wall.
I ordered the wall bed (murphy bed) from Costco online. They had a number of options and I was able to check out the reviews. I was a bit worried about the bed we ordered. It was the perfect size… but a number of the reviews said how hard it was to put together.
It turns out, the hardest part of the wall bed project was getting the five giant boxes up the stairs. I was able to put it together by myself in about 4 hours. If you have put Ikea furniture together, the bed should give you any trouble. I made a video of the assembly process and will be posting it later.
